3 han · 30 fu · Non-dealer · Ron (win off a discard)
3,900
Discarder pays 3,900
Standard riichi rules; this site's MVP does not track ippatsu, ura dora or red fives, and uses a single dora indicator.
How the scoring works
Riichi scoring uses basic points = fu × 2^(2 + han). For a non-dealer ron the discarder pays basic points × 4; for tsumo the dealer pays double. The dealer pays and collects double on every hand. Values are rounded up to the nearest 100 points.
At 5 han and above, scores jump to fixed levels instead of multiplying: mangan (8,000/12,000), haneman (12,000/18,000), baiman (16,000/24,000), sanbaiman (24,000/36,000) and yakuman (32,000/48,000) for non-dealer/dealer ron values.
Score calculator questions
What is the minimum riichi hand score?
The minimum typical hand is 1 han / 30 fu, worth 1,000 points on a non-dealer ron or 1,500 on a non-dealer tsumo. Lower-fu hands exist but are rare outside specific patterns.
When does mangan start?
Any hand reaching 5 fan scores the flat mangan value — 8,000 for a non-dealer ron and 12,000 for a dealer ron — regardless of fu. 6-7 fan is haneman, 8-10 baiman, 11-12 sanbaiman and 13+ yakuman.
Why does the dealer pay double?
The dealer position carries a bonus: on tsumo, the dealer pays 2× the basic points while others pay 1×, and on ron the dealer collects 6× basic points instead of 4×. This reflects the dealer's extra responsibilities and restart advantage.
